Z veseljem sporočamo, da sta iz Valencije v našo pisarno prispeli dve novi prostovoljki, ki bosta v naslednjih 4 mesecih del naše skupnosti!
Prosili smo ju, naj se predstavijo in opišejo njuno delo.
Hi! We are Lucia and Raquel, the two new volunteers from European Solidarity Corps. We both come from Valencia, a city in Spain, and we will stay in Brežice for 4 months. First of all, let us introduce ourselves.
My name is Lucia Roberto, I am 23 years old. I am currently ending my Industrial Engineering degree at the Polytechnical University of Valencia. I decided to study this degree because I wanted to help to improve the environmental situation, as it is a topic that it really matters to me. I consider myself as a family person, I really love practicing sports and spending time in nature. One of my favorite plans is to meet with friends and play board games together. I decided to come to Brežice because I wanted to live in another country, know about other cultures and I am really interested in the tasks that the Youth Center takes part in. I am sure this will be an enriching experience for all of us!
I am Raquel Morell, a 22-year-old that recently graduated from a university degree in Hispanic Studies in the University of Valencia. I chose this path because I have always been passionate about reading and writing, so my goal is to become a Spanish teacher in the future to be able to share my love for literature. Traveling and discovering new cultures has always been one of my interests, that is why I decided to do an Erasmus last year for 5 months in Portugal. This was a transformative experience that made me grow in many different ways, and it has been one of the biggest motivations to join this adventure in Brežice!
Now we would like to tell you briefly about our first day here. We started the day meeting what will be our team with a coffee. After, they had planned some activities to get to know each other, which made us feel so comfortable. We spent a really great time! Then, the team explained to us about the structure of the institution, as well as the tasks and the projects that we will work on. At the end of the morning, we were guided on a tour of the multiple spaces of the center and around the building. We want to mention the great work that was put into preparing this introduction day for us, where we received such a useful information.
Finally, we are very grateful for the good welcoming that we got and we are very excited for this experience. We would like to encourage you to take part in activities provided by your local communities and to get informed about the all the exchange opportunities that the EU offers. Hope to see you soon!
